India’s 5 Dig in Street Foods!

Although you can find excellent restaurants for food but the taste of the street food is scrumtious and that taste cannot be experienced in any of the restaurants.

Street food is a magnetising part of culinary culture of every place and especially india which is famous for it.It’s simple, often prepared in very meager greasy spoons, often deterring because of the lack of hygiene, and yet tempting because of the taste and the aroma.street food is something you will always remember and makes for the stronger culinary memories from a particular city or a region.

1.Pav Bhaji – Law Garden

5 STREET FOOD everyone must try once!

I had to begin with something thats closest to my heart 😊. Pav Bhaji is a Maharashtrian fast food spicy dish that originated in Mumbai cuisine. It is native to Mumbai and has now become popular in most metropolitan areas in India, especially in those of central and western Indian states such as Gujarat and Karnatak. It is essentially a spiced mixture of mashed vegetables in a thick gravy, usually cooked on a flat griddle (tava) and served hot with a soft white bread roll. Its mildy spicy taste is just so savory.Paradise!

2.Chole Bhature – Chandni Chowk Dehli

chole bhature is a Punjabi concoction of spicy curried chickpeas (chole) and puffy fried white-flour bread (bhature). A mouthful of tangy temptation, chole bhature is definitely one of India’s most delectable foods.Whenever you’re up for something naughty, teasingly spicy, you know what to grab.

3.Pani Puri

Pani puri (which is also known as a golgappa and is most commonly referred to as a puchka in Kolkata) is widely available as a street snack in India. The popular street snack all begins with something known as a puri – a deep fried crunchy piece of dough that’s hollow on the inside. Together pani puri is the agglomeration of a hollow chip filled with water, and though it sounds bizarre (chips dipped in water), it’s such a marvelous combination, like so many Indian foods. Its the one thing which no one wants to miss.

4.Misal Pao – Streets of Bombay chowpaty

Misal Pav is a vibrant meal consisting of a spicy sprouted bean curry topped with crunchy Farsan, crisp red onions, and fresh cilantro that is served with lightly buttered Pav or dinner rolls. The bold flavors of this peppery dish are accentuated with a dash of lemon, packing in an explosion of flavors in every bite. Its a must try street food.

5.Cheese Takda Maggi – HL College Road Ahmedabad

Maggi is a very common thing that we all eat at our homes but when this Maggi is mixed with a number of varieties of ingredients, it becomes one of the popular snacks of Ahmedabad local streets. The Cheese Takda Maggi is one of the best snacks that you can try in Ahmedabad. The rich and mouth-watering flavors of this Maggi will certainly be the best taste you would experience. You can also try many other varieties of Maggi.

Alright, enough street foods from me still there are many more such street foods but then if I mention them all then blog would be way too long so maybe I will mention them in another blog. I’d add fresh sugarcane juice, but is it street food or just a drink? Maybe it’s a street drink!  I’m waiting (REALLY!) for your favorite street foods, especially from places I haven’t been to – I need to know what to eat once I get there!!!

Travel Unfiltered

The idea of being able to explore the world, discover new places, meet interesting people and trying out new food has a certain intrigue, excitement and comfort about it. Just the thought of being able to pack our bags and escape, makes most of us feel happy which is completely a feeling which cant be explained.

However, sometimes,  things don’t work out. Our travel plans get cancelled or we are forced to stay at home to help prevent a global pandemic. Speaking from personal experience, it is no joke for a globetrotter to stay at home without knowing when the next holiday will happen. It takes some adjustment and a lot of effort to keep yourself distracted from spiralling into sadness.

This book is written by travel blogger Torre DeRoche, and, while I normally don’t prefer “chick travel love stories”, But I couldn’t put this one down. It’s a beautifully written book about overcoming her fear of the ocean to sail across the Pacific with her boyfriend. The way she describes the scenery, the people, and her experience makes me want to follow in her footsteps. It’s powerful, vivid, touching and fascinating. It’s the best travel book I’ve read all year

On the Road , by Jack Kerouac

Written in 1957, Jack Kerouac’s Beat Generation classic is a timeless travel novel. The story follows his character, Sal, as he leaves New York City and heads west, riding the rails, making friends, and partying the night away making best of memories. The main character’s frustration and desire to see the world are themes that can resonate with many of us. What I especially love about On the Road is that through all his travel adventures, he becomes a better, stronger, and more confident person.

Writer and NPR correspondent Eric Weiner set out on a yearlong journey to find the world’s happiest places. He heads to places like Iceland, Qatar, Denmark, India, and Moldova (the world’s most unhappy place) on his quest, and while he never finds the secret to happiness, his journey makes for an amazing and lighthearted read. In trying to answer the question “what makes a society happy?,” Weiner has some memorable interactions with locals. And much more interesting things to know this books is one of my favourite book.

In A Sun Burned Country , By Bill Bryson

It’s hard to pick just one book by Bill Bryson that’s good, because they all are amazing . He’s one of the most prolific and recognized names in travel writing. This book chronicles a journey through Australia and takes you from east to west, through tiny little mining towns, forgotten coastal cities, and off-the-beaten-path forests. Bryson includes lots of trivia in his tale as he travels around in awe — and sometimes in fear (thanks to box jellyfish, riptides, crocs, spiders, and snakes) — of this enormous country. This is the book that inspired me to go to Australia.
